Raj Vilas Palace

This building known as Raj Vilas Palace was built in the year 1866 and originally used to house the Resident and Agent to the Governor General of India. During the reign of Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner the Resident was withdrawn and this building was used as a State House to house/accommodate visiting Heads of States.

This building was last used for the stay of the wedding party of Maharana Bhagwat Singhji of Udaipur and later on for the wedding party of Maharawal Mahipal Singhji, son of Late Maharawal Lakshman Singhji of Dungarpur, the then Prince . Coincidentally, Maharawal Mahipal Singhji is the elder brother of Prince Raj Singhji of Dungarpur, a well known cricketer in India and abroad - and brother in law of HLH Maharaja Dr. Karni Singhji of Bikaner who was a Parliamentarian for 25 years and a sportsman of international repute.

This building was subsequently used by the family of Prince Bijey Singhji, deceased younger son of HLH Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner for many years.

Now, this same building was converted into a Hotel ,known as Hotel Raj Vilas Palace ,with major structural changes so as to transform the same into a luxurious Deluxe hotel with almost all facilities of a Five-Star hotel.
